WantToGo.com Closes its Online Doors on November 1, 2007

WantToGo.com was an idea born in 2002 by a group of friends that have a love for the outdoors. Individuals, who work hard all day, yet live for the free time we call weekends, holidays, vacations, and retirement. People who have a passion for camping, RVing, canoeing, hiking, fishing, hunting, skiing or anything that will get them out of the office and into this great Country. In 2003, the "Want To Go" Campground Directory was launched with the main objective of providing the best Free Campground Directory on the web. It was developed for our fellow Americans who hold this same passion for the outdoors.

We have reached a point in this directory in which our time and energy is no longer worth the effort. Keeping the information updated and having enough campgrounds participate to give the traveler choices has become a challenge. We have been amazed over the years how many campgrounds were unwilling to participate in a free directory. In addition, spammers who attack this site have become a constant technical challenge.

At this point, we are sad to close the WantToGo campground directory. We would like to thank the hundreds of thousands of visitors over the last five years who have used the directory. We wish you happy travels as you continue to explore this great country. We would also like to thank the hundreds of Campgrounds and RV Parks that have joined us over the years. We wish you continued success.
